Every sinner is lost. Lost from the presence of God; if he must return to God’s presence, then he must be sought and found. For example, the guilt and consciousness of sin caused Adam and Eve to dodge from God (Gen. 3:8).
They felt afraid and uncomfortable in his presence, knowing that they were sinful and under his displeasure. In this condition they found it impossible to draw near to Him with confidence.
Sin, also denied them access to the tree of live. Even worse; they were driven out of the garden, with no more opportunity to return. Obvious they suffered spiritual death; that is spiritually they were cut off from God immediately. In the cause of time, physical death finally followed.
On the basis of the consequence of sin, the word of God has declared that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). This implies that in our sinful condition, we are like Adam and Eve, separated from God, his love, grace, mercy and peace.
But God is merciful. In his mercies and love, He has given us the second Adam by whom He may return us into fellowship with him; as we respond to His call he cleanses our guilt, conscience, frees us from sin and restores us to his fellowship. That second Adam is JESUS.
What a great privilege to draw near to God in order to receive his love. Mercy, Grace and help in time of need. Jesus is asking you today. WHERE ARE YOU? Are you sure you are where God wants you to be, living how he wants you to live, and doing what he wants you to do? Imagine that “God so loved the world (you and I); that he gave his only begotten son, so that if you will believe on him, you will not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16). Hebrews 7:25 goes on to assure us that Jesus is able to save those who come to God by him.
Then why not give your life to him; and say to “Lord here am I, save me; confess your sins to him and ask him to come into your life, promise to follow him to the end.
